Chase Reporting?

I got an odd notification today on myFICO saying my score had gone up on EQ & TU.  TU indicated my balance has decreased by $3644, which is near the balance I paid a Chase card off.  However, that statement isn't due to close until Sunday.

Do they report $0 balances ahead of statement closing?

It was only 4 points, but i haven't monitored my scores on a daily basis in a few years so wasn't expecting it for another 12 days or so.
