Hi, need a pointer here.. one last residual issue from my bad credit days. I noticed that CAVALRY PORTFOLIO SERVICE appears once in a while on my Transunion report under "Account Review Inquiries". I have received a few letters over the past couple of years stating they own an old debt; it was passed around a few times between agenies. It is way beyond SOL and it is not on any report. I get the fact they can still try to collect on it.
Questions: How to officially close their account so it does not get resold and future inquiries from them? I heard not to do a DV at this juncture. Is there another approach that I'm missing? I guess the letters will help to stop them from poking around in my credit file at the same time?
I'm sure they are trying to get my latest mailing address by doing so. I have not recieved any new collection letter since I move last Fall.
I just want to bury this one for good so there is no surprises while house hunting later this year. thanks

Really simple, pay it.
If you pay it, it cannot be resold.
