Collections PIF question

I paid off two medical collections. One I paid off two years ago and it's still showing as 'debt paid' on my credit report, and the other I paid a month ago. The same company owns both collections and I asked the rep if she could delete the collections off my report since I satisfied the payment. She indicated that she would. How long does it take before the Credit Bureau's are updated? I keep looking every day and they are still there.

I'm asking because I didn't want to start the HIPPA (?) process until I know for sure whether they would be deleted or stay on my CR. They are the only collections I have and, unfortunately, they are hurting me.
