I requested my LexisNexis credit report and was surprised to see a "collections" inquiry viewable by others almost monthly for past few months from my current mortgage lender. I autopay directly from their website and no payments have been missed. Is this normal or some kind of error? Thanks.
Have you called your lender to find out whats up? LexisNexis in a way is centered around risk for the business sector. Some companies do use LN for risk possibilities with their current customers, and new applicants for creditors. Cap1 uses them for example. Risk is mainly their business model.

Thanks, I will check with them. I do see account review inquiries only viewable by me from American Express with whom I have accounts, just seemed odd for my mortgage lender to pull my account monthly as an inquiry viewable by others that can affect my "credit score" with LexisNexis (I doubt anyone uses said score but still).
Also, somewhat more odd is my LN report has a security freeze in place due to id theft, so I was surprised to see any new inquiries at all...
It kinda runs with a creditor that you are already established with which has access to your credit report at all times. Just happens to be LN were talking about. So thats probably why your lender is peeking in. Foreclosures are on the rise. So their protecting their investments with the way things are recently. Scanning their customers to see who's about to forclose on us investigation possibly. Thats my best guess. And it would make sense. You have no baddies so it isnt a CA. If you havent done it. Request your credit report via mail. It'll be 50+ pages. They know more than you know!

I was actually able to get a pretty good response from my lender via Twitter.
With that said, there are inquiries on there from at least one company with whom I have NO relationship since the freeze, so I will likely file a dispute.
