Could this be it?

I think I've identified the underlying cause of why my TU and EQ scores are considerably lower than my EX score. Maybe you all can verify. Status of a REPO:

TU - Condition: Derogatory
EQ - Condition: Derogatory
EX - Condition: Closed (Paid)

Pay Status for all 3 is: Collection/ChargeOff

Some time in 2002 the credit union confiscated it, I paid off the balance in 2005ish.

1) Is this the cause in the score variance?
2) If yes, what would you do?

Any insight is appreciated!

Re: Could this be it?

You might have something

3/1/08 FAKO's TU - 569, EX - 596, EQ - 601

TU has Pay Status: Repossession while the other two are blank or Current. I went and got the car 2 days later. In fact now that I notice it. Equifax doesn't have anything about the repo, Experian has it in the comments section "Account now redeemed/was repossession" and TU is Derogatory with Repossession. HMMM something else to dispute YEah!!!

Nothing like a glimmer of hope, right?!!???

I'll call the credit union tomorrow I suppose and see if they'll help me out. If they send me to their lawyer buddies - RA Rogers - I don't think I'm going to get very far. They aren't nice people. I can use the fact that I did pay them instead of waiting for SOL to run out as leverage.

They are obligated to report information as correct. They are not doing you a favor by doing so. IMO, I think that derogatory status is hurting you.

Re: Could this be it?

From the quick research I've done, "Account Condition" is reporting your CURRENT account condition, which in my case should be closed/paid.

I just noticed that this is also the case for an old loan as well. TU and EQ are reporting derogatory while EX is reporting Closed/Paid. Again, I did pay this loan off a couple years ago.

Looks like I have some phone calls to make tomorrow. I just wish I had a difinitive answer on whether or not these should report at closed/paid vs derogatory.

Re: Could this be it?

Status error was worth 26 points on EQ and 43 points on TU.

Re: Could this be it?

You know, I posted on here yesterday about something similar, and maybe Byrdman can help me out.  I have an OLD collection that was paid in 02 and it reports as paid on two CRA's but one still shows derog and owing $21.  So, should I call the CA and tell them to update or should I dispute with the CRA?

Re: Could this be it?

My biggest jumps early in repair were from status changes-
