Here is a different sort of Credit One problem.
In 2015, for a period of 5 months I had a Credit One card. I cancelled it "succesfully", and early. It shows as closed on CRs, last updated 2015.
To this day, I still get an email from Credit One every week, telling me my balance is 0, and I have had no activity for the week. It even references last 4# of the closed card. The email contains a link to sign in to the online account, and although it is from a valid sender, I of course have never clicked it. It also includes this:
You are receiving this email because you are a Credit One Bank card member.

I am loath to click what probably simply amounts to an unsubscribe link. Instead this fake account status spam gets delivered, weekly, to my junk folder where I only see it if I decide to travel down that rabbit hole.
1) Does everyone that cancels Credit One still get the weekly balance email until infinity?
2) Should I just click the stupid unsubscribe link?
As I said above, it is certainly from Credit One, and not a phishing attempt from another party.
I am curious if anyone else received weekly emails after cancelling the card.
It gets better. I hit the unsub button earlier today, and got a 404 - not found error.
Awesome.
The card was cancelled over 4 years ago - those ships sailed long ago.
