Creditor vs Transunion on payment reporting

Hello everyone! I am brand new here and here's my frustration: I have a secured credit card that reports to all three credit bureaus between the 1st & 3rd of the month. They advertise on their web page and in their online contract that they do this. However Transunion stopped updating in May. Transunion told me that May 2nd of this year is the last time that the creditor provided them with info. So, I called the creditor and, of course, they said that they automatically report to all three credit bureaus at the first of the month. So, I opened up a dispute with Transunion. I got the results back yesterday and they updated only one more month (June). Esperian already has my August payments reported.

My questions are 1. Is Transunion slow on updating CR? 2. Can I provide my statements to Transunion in another dispute to make them update?

Transunion is known to be VERY slow updating.

Thank you for the response. I felt that it was a Transunion issue.

I just hate the he said she said back and forth between Transunion and credit card issuer. It's like a standstill and I worry nothing gets resolved.

Re: Creditor vs Transunion on payment reporting

I have a similar situation going on with all the CRAs.  They stopped updating this account in May 2016.  However, after I disputed the account, I realize the creditor had updated to Experian in July 2016, but not the others.

What I suggest you do, is makes copies of your monthly statements to show the payments and dispute and send in your statements.  My creditor advised me to dispute as I had paid the account in full ($1100 to $0 balance).  After sending this in, the creditor had updated with Experian (said I could not end the dispute), my FICO score increased by 4 points.

Good luck with everything.

Re: Creditor vs Transunion on payment reporting

I have noticed the same thing with TU. My revolving accounts get updated up to 3 weeks after EQ and EX, and the installment loans up to 2 months later.

Amex BCP $35000, Disc IT $30500 ,Cap 1 QS $13600, Cap 1 QS $4300, Orbitz Rewards Visa $12500, Care Credit $12000, Chase Freedom $25000, Home Depot $5000.

Re: Creditor vs Transunion on payment reporting

Lack of monthly updates to a CRA is not per se a disputable inaccuracy.

There is no requirment for monthly reporting.  That just happens to be the norm with most creditors.

Updates are only required if/when the previous information has changed such that it is no longer accurate.

Any dispute would then be based on the requirment of FCRA 623(a)(2) that they promptly update as necessary to maintain the accuracy of the previously reported info.

The requirement is only that they promptly update, which is not specified in terms of days, weeks or months.

I would not dispute merely based on lack of monthly reporting.
