Disputed information still showing

I disputed some items with Transunion and got all but one item changed or removed.  They sent me an updated credit report and I thought all was well.  I signed up for FICO Standard Transunion this morning to see if my FICO score had chaged at all and much to my surprise, my score is lower now and all the accounts I thought were taken care of (and are missing or changed on my new report from them) are still showing as collections.  Any idea why this would be?  It also says to dispute on the web site I need a copy of Equifax's report.  This makes no sense to me!

You're score will go down when you dispute things.  Also sometimes it takes a little while for a CB to notify other reporting companies.  Myfico score is a few days behind on my equifax.

Are you trying to dispute EQ or TU?
Are you saying that on your update report from TU the accounts were removed, but when you just pulled your TU report from myFICO, the accounts were there?

The score you had before signing up here at myFICO, was it a FAKO or FICO......where did you get it?

Your score only changes when certain accounts are disputed and only while they are in dispute. After the dispute is over, it will either go back or change based on the results of the dispute.

Not sure what you mean by "it takes a little while for a CB to notify other reporting companies"

TU, EQ, and EX do not share information.

Re: Disputed information still showing

I disputed at all 3 and have got back new reports from both Transunion and Experian.

I checked Transunion because the biggest changes have happened on that report.  The items that are still showing today (at least 8 of them) have been updated on my new report (the one I received in the mail yesterday) to read that they were settled in a Chapter 13 that was discharged and finished in 2005 or they were removed from the report.  The web version is still showing them all as collections, status unknown, and the most recent activity date on all is now June 2008.

The score I had before (568) came from my mortgage lender when I was turned down for a home loan earlier this month.  Go figure.... with a score like that no wonder!  That denial of credit is what has started this whole process.

They (Transunion) also want me to have the most recent copy of Equifaxs report to redispute?  What is the connection there?  Thanks for any further advise you can offer!

Any idea what kind of disputes will lower my score?

I disputed my BK on Experian yesterday - only asking them to update the status to "discharged as of 8/2003" (it still showed status as "filed"). I also disputed two other items at the same time - two accounts that were still reporting late payments even though OCs sent letters a month ago stating they notified CRAs to delete. Today I see a 30 point drop. A little shocking. I just wonder if it was the BK dispute that caused it.

You got that version here from myFICO, if I remember right? It could be that TU has not updated their actual records yet. Is very strange. I'll ask around.

I do not understand this. Did they tell you this on the phone or in the letter? Something isn't right.

Collections, public records, etc are NOT removed from scoring when disputed.

The fact that your score lowered when you disputed those two accounts says that one or both of them were helping more than hurting.
