(Update #2) Equifax just text; case closed...status 0 balance. 5/29/2019  Originally posted @ 3100%, then 31%, now 0%= Got all my points back

Decided to close a card. I pif and wait for zero balance to reflect on website.  I took screenshots and print a copy to docs and drive showing pymt. processed, zero balance and then I closed the acct. Plus credit card company emails me a receipt.

Today I get alerts from Exp. and EQ. showing I closed and have a balance.  So I called ccc to make sure they have me as zero balance and closed at consumers request.  So after a lot of ?'s the csr says I have to file a dispute and will send a letter stating I closed acct. with zero bal. Csr blames cb's.  So CB's open disputes and said they did not report wrong, credit card company has 30 days to resolve.

The date of resolve is one day before my Disco is supposed to unsecure me........too close.

?- Did I do the right thing opening a dispute so close to graduation? (Answer: I ended up graduating on 5/28/2019. 1 month early)

Re: Dispute: Should I, or shouldn't I?

I think you will be ok Laurachrissy.

Balance disputes basically are 30 days to resolve so that the lender can just fix the issue on the next update.

Being closed and with balance, if it stayed that way you would wanted to have disputed it anyway but doing so now shouldn’t impact graduation chances with Discover.
