Hello,
I have had Boostmobile for years. Buy the phone no contract, thus nothing on my credit report.
I am figuring since the other carrriers offer "contracts" with financing, that there is a chance they show up on credit reports as a TL. That dang Samsung S20 Ultra has been on my mind!!! In trying to separate my needs vs my wants---the newer camera/zoom is winning me over; especially since the camera in my S7 Edge is messed up.
So, I am trying to avoid a new TL from Sprint/Verizon etc on my credit if I purchase the phone through one of them and get the contract. So I am wanting to find out the damage it will bring to my credit reports.
On a side note, Boostmobile does have the Samsung S20 (base model) listed for sale on their website for $200 down and $27 month. It keeps selling out as one day it shows in stock then few days later out of stock. No SP or HP on credit though they ask for SS# and Driver license information---they provide a statement saying this information is used as identity check not a credit check, they will not be quering credit bureas or requesting credit scores.
So I am curious if other carriers show up on credit report as a tradeline where you have financed the phone through them? I read on here in a thread that Samsung.com finance does show up.
Thanks!!!
At least with AT&T any phone financed just shows up on your bill with the monthly installment like an additional charge til the phone is paid off whether that is through the payments themselves or an early payoff. There is no mention of the financed phone on your credit reports
Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint never appeared on my CR unless I stopped paying.
I wonder if wireless carriers report to the NCTUE? I've been in the industry for over 12 years, but as a line level employee such information is not devulged to me. I may have to order a copy of that report just to see. Definitely +1 on what the others have said in that wireless bills and device financing are not reported to the big 3. Older copper based home phone and internet (POTS line/DSL) were actually reported in some cases by some companies, but not the newer fiber based stuff to my knowledge, and not the cellular accounts.
My CR shows a HP from Verizon but no tradeline. The only way you are going to get around the HP for one of the major companies would be to pay for the phone outright.

The HP will come regardless if your purchase the device outright or not. The HP comes from opening a post paid account, vs a prepaid account. It is not dependent on how you purchase the phone itself.
Thank you all!!!!!!
I am thinking to get the unlocked phone. I saw a post someone on here that the person used samsung.com finance and it showed up on credit report.
Can anyone else confirm/deny if samsung shows up credit report as TL???
I have had boost for umteen years, so would use boost service if I don't have to go one of the other carrier routes.

I have a Samsung Galaxy financed through BoostUP and it does not show on credit report. (financed 8 months ago).
