I'm getting a settlement from the Equifax breach for 4 years of credit monitoring on Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. The email's sign-up link redirects me to this site (DON'T CLICK THIS):
https://www.experianidworks.com/equifaxsettlement
Has anyone else been referred to this site?
The Experian domain is experian.com, and (even though it looks similar), the link above is in a completely different domain, registered by
"Consumerinfo.com, Inc" in Costa Mesa CA.
At that redirect, I'm prompted to give my DOB, SSN, etc, without ever logging into experian.com, equifax.com, or transunion.com. Naturally, if this is a phishing attempt, I am loathe to do so.
100% legit! Already signed up.
Firefox/McAfee says its a secure site. They ask for the info so they know who you are to begin the service.
I finally signed up for my free 4 years of experian identity works and when I am trying to request my 3 scores I get an error that says "Transaction could not be completed. An error occurred at the source". Has anyone else opted for this settlement offer and received this message?. It does state this also..............Your initial Experian credit report is available upon enrollment and can be viewed in the Credit Monitoring tab of your membership portal. In order to refresh your Experian credit report monthly, you may select the 'Update Credit Report' link below. Experian report may only be refreshed once per month.................Will I be able to get all 3 of my scores next month, all it shows is my experian report with no scores?????
Any credit monitoring service for all 3 scores cost $. EX FICO is free. The rest charge for all 3 and even EX charges for EQ and TU's scores. EQ has 4 score services you can pay for and only 1 the most expensive is FICO. The rest is Vantage.
