I am very angry with Equifax. I just tried to Unlock my Equifax report because my job needs to run a credit report. I logged into my account and it would not unlock. I was on the phone with Equifax for an hour and a half and spoke to 12 different people. Finally I was sent to the 12th person who said I would need to speak with Consumer Affairs but they closed 3 minutes ago. I asked what the problem was and he said very calmly "It appears that your information is listed on someone elses credit report."
WHAT????????????
How does this happen and what can I do?????????????????????
Any help would be appreciated.
Have you been able to review your reports on Experian and TransUnion?

I had this issue a few months back. It took almost a month to get them to unlock it. This was with about 20+ calls and countless hours on the phone for them to ultimately to really care. I hope that you have a better experience. Good luck!

Sorry to hear. Equihack is the most incompetent bureau around. Im scared to even try to dispute wrong info on my report out of fear what would become of my report if they tried. All our info, and they still split files, cant have snyone answer a phone nor anyone understand anything credit related. Its a shame for reelz
This. They are TRULY incompetent.
Good luck. Keep calling. Unfortunately you might have to mail or fax them documents and just wait for a reply, hoping they do what you ask.
Well, I finally got it unlocked. I only found that they added addresses that did not elong to me. No new accounts, etc. I will NOT lock it again but will keep a CLOSER eye on this report.
Thanks for all of the replies and the help.
I found that on my EQ also back in the day. Filled out the paperwork and sent it in... Months later, the incorrect addresses stopped showing.
