I have been divorced since 1999. However, every new address that I have since then, shows her as having lived there, also. And I know from looking up myself, that I am listed on her addresses. We have no joint lines of credit. I have requested that her name be removed from my credit report - however, the agencies have stated that they cannot verify the accuracy of my claims. Additionally, I want my addresses and name removed from her credit report, so that I do not have my name listed in her addresses.
How do we stop this madness of transferring addresses, when we have no ties to one another? And clean up the damage that has already been done?
Thank you.
The most common reason (although certainly not the only reason) for that to happen is a current or former lender actively reporting the address monthly. Could be a leftover of previous joint accounts or AUs.
To track that down:
Pull your Experian report from annualcreditreport.com - specifically Experian, and it must be the ACR-style online report (or the full paper version also works for this).
On the full Experian report, in the Personal Information section, it will list all addresses currently associated with you - next to each address will be a Address Identification Number.
For any incorrect addresses, note the AIN, and then look through the accounts listed on the same report to find the ones that have matching AINs. Then contact those lenders to resolve the issue at the datasource. (Otherwise they will keep popping back up...)

Are you saying that her name appears on your credit report as an AKA for you, and that her addresses appear in the list of former addresses? If so that should be fairly easy to have corrected. I have never had an issue with a CRA removing incorrect names or addresses.
Or are you saying that some of her accounts are showing on your CR. If so are these joint, individual, or AU accounts?

Couldn't you just send a copy of the divorce decree granted by the court to the CRAs?
Guess I'm lucky, I have 2 ex'es but neither show up on any of my reports.
I suspect that the problem is with one of your lenders and that the credit bureau is merely reporting out what has been reported in to them.
If my Ex-wife appeared at my address I wouldn't be worried about my credit file...my wallet however...?
But seriously, (I can be serious once in a while) all you can do is dispute the erroneous info on your report and eventually your file will be clean. I'm still working on removing a PO Box my Ex had in her name only thats listed in my file with EQ. TU and EX were gracious but EQ seems to be the proverbial mule as usual. Color me suprised!
Her file is for her to worry about.

In following on the various posters comments, LexisNexis seems to believe they need to act as a "tattle tale" and resubmit addresses of many years gone by. Totally not needed but, then I have to dispute them off the three bureau reports. What an unnecessary pain! Anyway, it might be from a source other than the three bureaus. Something to be aware of ... my LexisNexis report is 52 pages long with many addresses the same except for a comma or period ... what a bunch of nonsense and they are used for reporting to my auto/home insurance company.
