Experian Battle #2

this one has been going on for years.

My Experian score is, on average, about 40 points lower than the other two Bureaus, and i see two possible reasons why that may be. i have already addressed one in another thread. this one is about my mortgage.

i am 14 years into a 15 year mortgage with excellent payment history (have not been late once), and that fact is reflected on my credit reports. well, at least on two of them. my mortgage is nowhere to be found on my Experian report. i have been battling with Experian, and my rep from the bank that issued the mortgage, for over a year now, and i still cannot get my mortgage listed on my credit report. for whatever reason. why won't Experian list it ?? they've given me a million different reasons. same with the bank. the problem is, neither will contact the other to get this straightened out. Experian has told me (and i have an experian membership), these answers on numerous occasions

1) reps have said my bank has never contacted or provided to them, in all this time, my mortgage information

2) others have said that they have received information from my bank, but they deleted it for whatever reason

3) on an official dispute, they reached out to my bank like they are required to by law, but said my bank refused to give them the information.

my bank claims they have sent the information, that there are absolutely no codes, or provisions, or anything on my information that could give Experian a reason not to include it on my credit report.

at this point, neither side will contact the other side to get this straightened out. i have done everything that each side has told me to do, relayed precisiely to the one side what the other side needs, and am just freakin' worn out. need some suggestions out there. thx

Re: Experian Battle #2

actually, this was the bigger battle that i was hoping to get some insight on. unfathomable that a credit bureau is not reporting a personal mortgage.

Inquire with EX about a split file.

I would suggest that the OP first have the bank confirm they are reporting it correctly, preferably in writing, and run that up the chain of command if lower-level employees choose to push back.  Having that confirmation in hand will make for a more effective dispute with EX.

Re: Experian Battle #2

Is the mortgage your only non revolving loan?  I would definatly want my mortgate to report, however while a creditor must report accurate information to the CRA there is nothing that says they must report to all or any particular CRA.

That being said unless your mortgate is from the local loan shark I see no reason why it wouldn't be reported to the big 3.
