Hello so I was a victim of identity theft and I got a police report , a FTC affidavit , and a copy of my id and utility bill and sent to Experian and transunion and Equifax . well the accounts were blocked except 1 account they said couldn't be blocked which was a mortgage somebody acquired idk how, but anyway 3 of the accounts popped back up on my report 4 days later ! I did not inform the creditors cause I read I did not need to. What did I do wrong ? Please help
I probably misunderstood, you were id theft victim, someone opened accounts in your name, but you didn't notify the creditors?
Correct I read on this site I just need to do the block with the reporting agencies .
I read on here to just notify credit reporting agencies. Didn't see where anybody said they notified the creditors

So someone opened up accounts and even a mortgage in your name and you thought it would be a good idea NOT to contact the creditors?
Please run, don't walk, to report to the creditors. Be a little outraged, someone has robbed you and the lenders helped! Like that. Most of us here will agree that you're a big dope for not reporting immediately, but don't accept any of the blame when talking to the creditors! Keep that among us girls on myfico. Well give you grief, don't let them.
If you contact by phone, make sure you use the fraud word right away. You want to talk to the fraud department, not some English as a third language rep. Insist that not only the loans are cleared, but the hps that go with them. Your attitude should be that this is their fault.
IMO it is pointless to notify the creditors, I have been dealing with capital one for 2 years on an account I have never opened, They come back with the same result.
"Based on free public data information we have traced this phone number used to you"
as well as
"We have recordings of you calling in" I requested those and were told no.
problem is when you use any information it becomes public searchable data
Note I have had the same phone number for 10 years, first with verizon then Tmobile as of last year
