I respectfully disagree. Those negative Reason codes are direct output from the fico algorithm. If they are giving an output like that, it's because its seeing some thing in the CR data, Something in the data that should not be there. What it is I do not know. @thornback makes a good point. you should pull your scores first rather than relying on citibanks pull. I was premature to advise calling before formally pulling your scores and seeing your actual Reason Codes from another source.
nevertheless if you want, leave it be, that's also your choice.
I think for clarification purposes for this discussion we need to define what a "comment" or "remark" on an account is verses a "negative reason statement." The terms are being used interchangeably in this thread, when they are very different things. A negative comment or remark is what can be seen in the text comments section of an account. These comments/remarks are not Fico scoring criteria. Negative reason statements on the other hand that are provided at the time a Fico score is given most definitely DO impact score, as their very presence indicates a factor that is taking away Fico points.
Perhaps I haven't explained this very well, so, my CITI card like many other cards offers to show me my FICO score. It lists my FICO as 740 but under where the score is displayed there is a couple of "comments" that say what may be affecting my score. This is where there are 2 references to late or missed payments. It's not the type of derogatory, that would be linked or tagged to a credit account, more of an awareness comment than anything else. This is not duplicated in my credit file anywhere.
I appreciate everybody's help and feedback and input. I'm glad that I found this fourm, I never thought that I would get such amazing help. I am going to do the advanced package myFICO and look it over very close before proceeding.
I will provide an update.

Good point. Clarification would be good.
I understood OP to mean negative reason statements since they mentioned the data was coming from the Citi score app and referred specifically to what is noted as "factors impacting" their score.

Those are negative reason statements.

Make sure you check the reason statements provided for every score version as they may differ. And remember - Citi is referencing EQ FICO *Bankcard* Score 8 - not EQ FICO 8

Well said good point.
@Anonymous wrote:Looks like I am screwed then. Equifax report has not shown any late or missed payments since I disputed the inaccurate data 6 months ago and my CITI CC has updated the score about 10 days ago, but still has the comment:
Key Factor(s) Affecting Your FICO® Score:
- 1
Number of accounts with delinquencyMissed and late payments, including the number of late payments, how late they were, and how recently they occurred, are important to FICO® Scores. Your score was impacted because your credit report shows one or more accounts with missed payments.
- 2
Time since delinquency is too recent or unknownMissed and late payments, including the number of late payments, how late they were, and how recently they occurred, are important to FICO® Scores. Your score was impacted because the time since your most recent past due payment was too recent.
I don't believe these are comments on your actual reports. I have these 'key factor' notes on most of my creditors site where they offer some Fico score. They aren't really reflective or accurate in most cases to your current status. Multiple sites tell me I have too many recent inquiries but I have 1 inquiry across the board from about a year ago. I think you're getting hung up on this & it's not affecting anything.
Here is a partial update.....On the 3B in closed accounts under "older derogatory events" there is one month 6/2020 that is listed as 30 days late. This is what I disputed about 6 months ago and was able to get the "30" removed from my 2 year pay history. Apparently the derogatory data listed in the lower section should have been removed as well I would think, opinions?
I tried to open another dispute for it just now but at the last step to submit the dispute I got a message that says, "you are not able to dispute this information. This may be because you have already filed a dispute and it is under investigation." There is a toll free number to call so I guess I will try this tomorrow.
Aaaarrrggghhhhh!
