FICO simulator

I think the Simulator is whacked.

Today it says, if I pay my bills on time for the next 24 months my EQ score will only go from 661 to 681.

2 years for 20 points, thats CRAZY.

2 months ago it said I could go from 659 to 691 in 6 months.

Hopefully it is not correct.

Re: FICO simulator

IMHO-
There are a lot of factors the simulator does NOT take into account.

Here are a few I am aware of:
Does not know you have a maxed account that is deducting major points

Does not know you have "Too many accounts with balances"

Does not know you have baddies dropping off.

It however does seem to know:
Paying revolving to zero will deduct points.

That 60's become minor derogs after 24 months.

Re: FICO simulator

Revolving meaning credit card?

Because I get a message saying "positive factors" : because I have a 0 balance right now on the report that tells me

  • You've limited the use of your available credit.
    • But you say.

Paying revolving to zero will deduct points.

      Who is right?

      HELLLLLLLLLLP

      Re: FICO simulator

I brought two accounts current & my score went up 95 points, in one month.  I had a baddie deleted so I had a total jump of about 105.

Last week I used 25% of avail. credit on one account and it dropped over 25 points, but I'll gain that back next month when I pay the balance off (hopefully).

As soon as you bring your balances down...you'll see the score jump up.

      I also want a 700 for Christmas!

They don't give them back as fast as they take them you know. Congrats on 105 point jump.

I am going to leave my card at 0 and see what happens.

When it showed 0 my score did go from 655 to 661 in my new bucket.

      Re: FICO simulator

Under 10% on under 50% of revolving accts (credit cards)
Leave $5 on one card- TRUST ME
Good for 20 points for me vs Zero balances.
