Freeze on Experian, in the middle of auto loan. What to do?

In the middle of a loan being approved with Toyota...


Hi! So about two weeks ago I was notified of two inquiries (kohl’s and Macy’s) that I did not initiate, so I disputed and froze my credit with Experian. I was told I can call anytime and remove it.

Fast forward to this Saturday I went to Toyota and bought a new car, and was able to get a good interest rate. The financial manager asked me to unfreeze experian so I called. I was advised to give a PIN which I haven’t received yet. They told me I’d need to mail information since I didn’t have my PIN? The financial manager seemed like that was fine and they did run TU and EQ. When I was signing my loan documents he told me to still contact EX to unfreeze or it will delay the loan?

I am now home with my car, and worried to death that when EX opens tomorrow I will be told this is going to be a couple week process. Is ALL THREE bureaus really neccessary for Toyota to proceed? And does this mean they will ask for my new car back?

I know this doesn't help now but the best way is do start a freeze online, they give you a pin right away. Though on their freeze website now they have after you fill out name and such they ask do you have a pin number with either yes or no.. You could say no and see what happens..

Hey! I do appreciate the info about doing it online because I mistakenly called, that’s been my downfall haha. I finally got through to a supervisor who is supposedly going to overnight me a pin. We will see about that!

I moved so my address is different then the one they have on file so I'm going to hell and back with Experian and that PIN... Not gonna lie, I'm a little jelly, lol.

Honeslty I called about 50 times and finally after being told the wrong thing on every call I reached a supervisor who heard me out and helped. She did research to see if my address was reporting to any credit bureaus and sure enough it was, so she overnighted my pin and I am so happy to say my freeze has been lifted and loan went through! I will never do that again. Lol
