Getting MyFICO scores

I will try to make this as short as possible, but still make sense.  I am in the military.  Due to a financial situation my security clearance is in jeporday.  I have been pulling all 3 CRs since Sep 07, of course they all three are very different.  I was told they need to see my credit scores.  I purchased Experian's product which showed all three scores. It had TU score as the lowest.  Out of curiosity I bought a TU credit report and score which shows it to be much higher, actually higher than the other two.  Now, after reading comments on this website I am wondering if it would be to my benefit to purchase this sites product.?  I am already paying around $50 a month for what I have.  Are the scores going to be better or worse than what I already have?

I have disputed alot of things on all 3 reports and have gotten good end results.  Some of the items I am sure are in violation of several state and federal laws.  That is a whole different post.

I need a true look at my scores.

Thanks

Re: Getting MyFICO scores

Same boat here.... I would have to say yes... get your reports from here.  I haven't personally because this joke is getting expensive.  The scores the bureaus give you are evidently for shoots and giggles.  Nobody uses them and they are always higher then your FICO.  If you're going to spend $50/mth, I guess here would be the best place to do it.  Personally, I think that's a little steep to play this game that is difficult, all time consuming, and expensive to win, but I guess if its for your security clearance, then you definitely need to play it.

here is my similar, yet less eliquently put take on this:

Re: Getting MyFICO scores

You need to see your FICO scores. Other than an EQ score pulled directly from Equifax (which sells FICO scores), anything else is a FAKO score. And an EQ score that comes with another company's 3-in-1 is also a FAKO. The FICO's have the gold seal on them (click on the Credit Education tab, among others, to see what it looks like.)

There's currently a 25% discount code which keeps popping up and vanishing again, so I don't know how much longer it's good for (see next paragraph.)

Click on the Products tab above and select FICO Credit Complete. Make sure that all three scores are checked, enter your CC info, and I think it's on the second screen where it will ask if you have a discount code. Type in GOALS25.

This score pull is a one-time thing, and the scores will only remain on your screen for 30 days, unless you're subscribed to ScoreWatch or Suze, so be sure to save them.

Re: Getting MyFICO scores

Hi there.. Yes, the scores that you have gotten in the past are not your true FICO scores. You need to pull your scores from this sight to see the real deal. I can not tell you if they will be higher then what you are seeing. I can tell you that my scores here are higher then the scores that are shown on my Truecredit account.

Re: Getting MyFICO scores

A good combo is to have one 3-in-1 monitoring service (I use TrueCredit) to look at your credit reports. Forget the scores, which are FAKO's. ou can pull all three reports every 24 hours + 1 minute. Then when you think that something is going on that will affect your scores, you can cough up the $$$ for your actual FICO's.

Ignore the FAKO scores and the advice that comes with them, which is frequently irrelevant if not downright damaging.

If you're really having to do some digging, you can pay each credit bureau directly for your full report. This usually costs $8 - 10, and it will display some additional info that you might not see on the 3-in-1's. Again, unless you are buying your EQ report directly from Equifax, do not pay for your scores, because TU and EX will happily sell you FAKO's.

Re: Getting MyFICO scores

Thanks for your comment.  I have seen people post both, scores from the CRAs and FICO.  In most of the instances, the FICO scores were higher.  I had read your other post and I agree.  It is YOUR score but you have to pay out the nose to get it, or at least what you think is "it".  I don't like not being able to see what the creditors see.  It appears sometimes it is a secret about you that you are not allowed to know.

At any rate, I am trying to clean up my credit.  I have been in the military too long for this to happen.

Re: Getting MyFICO scores

Just go to My Fico .com and buy scores you want with the reports.  The code GOALS25 is good through Jan 31st.
These are the real scores and you can dispute anything that you think is wrong.  My Fico will help you with dispute letters.  If you get all three scores it will be about 33.00.

Re: Getting MyFICO scores

This is what I have purchased:  TrueCredit - Transunion report and Score

                                                    Equifax - Triple Advantage

Experian - all 3 reports and scores

So, from what I understand, keep TrueCredit (upgrade to all 3 three), cancel the other 2 and get my scores from MyFico.

Re: Getting MyFICO scores

I personally don't like true credit.  but first get your fico scores and then pick a monitoring service.  Experian 's pretty good but the uses  plus scores.  However a lot of lenders use them.
what ccs do you have?
