Hey hstone,

How did you get it removed? I have one that is because I returned the box late. It shows on my credit report as a collection from credit protection with a $0 current balance.

I just talked to a comcast CSR who was no help. I asked him to talk to his supervisor and he said that she will call me back. I talked with Credit Protection on the phone and they were no help, told me I had a $0 balance. They were polite, though. So now should I just wait for the comcast supervisor to call me back? By the way, I do have current comcast internet now.

The collection from Comcast is showing a zero balance on my cr's as well but that is not good enough.  I am waiting to hear something as well.  I need to refi next month and that collection would not look good and besides that would put me in a different loan category and I don't want to go lower fico with a higher rate.  Tired of subprime.

I sent an email to the address above that Cobra 19 listed in the thread earlier and got a REAL reply!  Then I disputed the collection with the bureaus and just recieved notice that it has been deleted.  Comcast wasn't really that much help, and I wouldn't just wait for a supervisor to call back, I would actually try to get one on the phone yourself.  My csr told me if I had any problems with the deletion to ask for Jaqueline D. her supervisor.  Good Luck.

How did you dispute this online, as inaccuarate or other?
 
I have  similar situation with a paid collection to Credit Protection (re: Comcast account).

I recently had a problem with Comcast over 2 receiver boxes not returned that went to collections for $300. I called their national office at 215-665-1700 and told them I needed to speak to someone about a collections account. After talking to the lady, I jumped in the car and returned the boxes and called her back. She said she would call the ca immediately and have it removed asap. She says if its still reporting next month call her back and she will get on them to make it go away.

I sent off a GW letter to Comcast about a month ago with no reply.  I had initially called the Woodbridge Virginia branch in search of someone to talk to or an address.  Ended up speaking with someone who had no idea what I was talking about. 
I currently live in Atlanta so the option of popping into the store isn't an option.  The collection is six years old and after reading everyone's comments I was trying the letter *just to see* if it could come off.
What should I do next?  Write another GW letter to the Virginia branch?  Call the national number listed here?  or email that gentleman's address?
Any help would be appreciated.

No, actually I am waiting to hear from Marylou Gomez @ADFNI in Arizona.  SHe sent in my complaint to CPA  and they have 10 days to tell her organization why I never received a letter stating that I owed this $100 and why I was never allowed to make arrangements to pay it.  If they can't verify their part, they will have to delete.  ANother poster contacted her as well but I don't know how their complaint is going.  I have one cable box, but this is one that the tech left here when he changed our old one out.  I think they are stealing the boxes and selling them, actually.  ANyway, we are not using that cable box at all and COMCAST is not trying to find the one that they say we still have that we don't. 
 
did everyone who posted move within the last 2 years, because I am seeing a pattern and they are mailing letters to our previous addresses even though we are current customers with comcast?

I ran my credit report last month and found that I've Comcast Collection on my credit report. According to them, I didn't return the box. So I paid the CPA 150 bucks and they told me that they will remove from credit report. But I saw last night it shows that paid collection. and I called the Comcast CS and she gave me the ticket number and said that it will take few weeks before we remove it from the credit history. Hopefully, She's was talking right.. and my credit report gets fixed
