Guess what I just noticed?

I was delinquent with cap1 back in '02. went to collections - NCO to be specific. I paid them IN FULL (before I knew about this forum) back in '05. Just looked at my CR to see what the CA listed the payment as (paid in full or paid as agreed) and they must have deleted it when I paid b/c it's not there! It is just showing CAP1 as CO/Paid and CAP1 account ok (two cap1 accounts). Nice! I was so nice to them and didn't even ask for delete b/c i didn't know they could do that. I should have noticed this a long time ago!!

sent cap1 a GW but haven't heard back yet.

If you paid within 30 days of receiving the notification, they would never have reported it.

No, they were sending me letters for over 6 months. They called me once and I told them I didn't have the money. When they called a few months later I asked for a payment plan.

Re: Guess what I just noticed?

The only thing I can think of as to why they did that was b/c I was so nice and cooperative?? The csr was very rude and tried to make a deal with me for half but I asked if I could pay in full (more money for her) so it shows on CR as paid in full. I also called the csr I dealt with once a month to make sure she got my payment and I sometimes sent more than we set up. I think she was surprised how cooperative I was. maybe. I'm sure I won't get that lucky again - now that I am not so naive with the CA's.

Is this true? I was under the impression that it was, but just ran into a situation yesterday.

My wife apparently lost track of an old Verizon account and it was sent to collections (AMO recoveries). She called to find out what the account was...blah blah blah.

In the process of paying it, she was told that regardless of whether she paid it or not, that it would be reported to the CRA's. She paid anyway - the day after she received the collection notice in the mail.

I told her I was under the impression that if she paid within that 30 days 'dispute time' that it would probably not even hit her credit report, but the woman she talked to insisted it would, but would be marked as paid.

So will this hit her CR or not?
