Re: HIPAA

It is no longer an active thread.  You can read the read only in the archive or go to whychat.com. Or google the HIPPA process.

Re: HIPAA

Recovering From Medical Debt is at the very bottom of the page.  You can still read the information, just not post to it.

You can read why here:

I am sorry, google whychat HIPPA.

I did find it on google...but I do have a question...Can I do one at a time or do I have to do all of them at once...my medical bills I mean?

Re: HIPAA

When you say all at the same time do you mean in the same envelope?

I would do each individually in separate envelopes but you could mail them at the same time.

Re: HIPAA

No I mean can I just do one of the bills at a time.  Some of them are pretty high and I cannot afford to pay all of it at once.  Or can you just make a deal with the creditor to pay the bill in payments and then have it taken off the credit.  Sorry just trying to be sure before I start all of this.  Even with health insurance my hospital bills were pretty high.  thanks for you help.

Re: HIPAA

Ok, I see what you are saying.

How old are these bills?  How long have they been on your CR?  There may be other routes that are quicker than the HIPPA process.

Re: HIPAA

You can pay 1 at a time. You can make payment and then start the Hipaa process or  start the process and make payment using the HIPAA  OC letter.

Always opt-out with the CRAs before starting.  Always use the restrictive endoresment when making payment!

Hand-write all medical dispute letters (CRAs only)
