Hard Inquiry - effect on FICO score

Hi everybody,

How much would a hard pull (for an increase of $5000 in the credit limit of an existing credit card which already has $15000 as a credit limit) affect my FICO Score.

EX - 711 (plus score); EQ - 724 (MyFico); TU - 673 (MyFico).

Thank you for any responses.

Don

Re: Hard Inquiry - effect on FICO score

Each INQ usually costs me 4-5 FICO pts (I'm in the 800-815 FICO range, not sure if the 'cost' is different in the 700s or 600s).

I'm around 700 and they cost me 2-3 points.

Re: Hard Inquiry - effect on FICO score

As usual it all depends on other history in your report. My own recent experience was applying for a RBS/Kroger CC, they pulled EQ and it was more than 2 years since my last inq. even though they say I had 4 inq's. I did not lose 1 point. Additionally, when the tradeline reported my FICO went up 18 pts.
