Thanks! Sorry about the lack of line breaks... I missed that checkbox. Let's see if it works this time.

Seems I hit the jackpot with this forum. Finally credit scores and personal finance issues are starting to make sense!

I have found that www.bankrate.com can be an extremely helpful website when it comes to credit cards and personal finance. I used it often when I was in college. This message board is the best you could find for credit and credit scoring issues.

When you bought a car, you started off small. You took a $2500 dollar loan and bought something a little older. My point... You didn't start off with a brand new Escalade.

Credit cards are the same way. You have to start off small to build your credit, and work towards the card(s) that you really want. I never use my first two credit cards. They just sit around doing nothing now that I have a better card. And when I get my next card, I will probably rarely use the one I use now.

Ok, this is the OP. For some reason, after I signed up for ScoreWatch, I couldn't sign in with my other user name, and was prompted to create a new one. Weird...

Anyway, according to myFICO, my Experian score is 672. I went ahead an app'd for Citi's mtvU card, and am waiting to hear back. If I'm declined for this one, I'll probably call both AMEX and Citi to ask for reconsideration. I'd really like an in with AMEX, but I can't keep up the hard inquiries...

That's a very good score. I hope you get the MTVU card, be sure to let us know. And yep watch-out for those hard pulls.

Good news!!! I got the Citi card, with a CL of $1200!
Now, time to wait for the mail and make plans for how I will responsibly use it.

Congrats my friend!!! This forum will always be helpful!! I'm very happy for you. And yes use it responsibly Citi is great lender to get in with. In no time you'll have sweet offers in your mailbox.

I hope you see a nice score rise. Be sure to keep an eye on your credit perhaps subscribe to the quarterly fico product if you don't need to pull all the time.
