Higher Score

I just paid off all my credit cards and my car loan.  How soon should I see a rise in my scores?

All credit cards were current and the car loan was current but I had been late several times.

Re: Higher Score

The rise in your score will occur once everything is updated on your reports. Depending where you were in the reporting cycle, this could take up to a month.

Re: Higher Score

The late dates will hurt score but as they get older in time the impact will be less.  Continue to use your credit cards buy something or pay bill using the card. The amount chrged on the card does not have to be a big amount and pay it off when the bill comes. Doing this these credit cards will continue to help your FICO score and help avoid a creditor closing the account due to inactivity.
