Hmmmmmmm

Can someone tell me where, on the credit report, does it say when a collection will fall off, because I have looked mine over, and I don't see it anywhere.

Cliffs for those with ADD:

where are the dates?

Re: Hmmmmmmm

From what I understand:

DOFD - 7 years from that date
I'm addicted to my credit reports so I have multiple copies from multiple places (just from the last couple of months - and yea, I pay for them too). I think only one set of my reports actually say "Due to fall off on xx date". Most don't.

Oh....I thought there were actual DATES on the report that told you when they were going to go off.

Which, by the way, WOULD make a lot of sense for them to do it. If you pay 40 dollars for a report, one might think that something like that would be on the report.

Thanks for the info!

Hit the reply button and then, once you get there, you will see a little box that says "quote post" on the upper right hand side of the message body box. Just click that, and post is quoted.

And that, ladies and gentleman, is the first question that I've ever been able to answer on the fico forums.

Congrats! You're a good teacher, or I'm not as blonde as you think I am... Or something.

Now how can I raise my credit scores 200 points over night? If you don't answer THIS question, I shall have no more respect for you!Smiley Wink

Re: Hmmmmmmm

intesting story:

I call up the weasels at the student loan corporation today and the conversation goes like this:

Me: hey, I'm just curious. I have a long history of paying all my student loans on time, can you pull my information and verify that?

(he does)

Student loan person: Yes, you've been with us since 1995, but you did have three lates late in 2005.

Me: Yep, that's what I want to talk to you about. I had this little incident that happened to me which happened to destroy my house, and I ran behind a little on my bills during that time frame.

SLP: Okayyyyyyy

Me: You all do like it when everyone pays their bills on time, right? I need your help in helping me to continually pay my bills on time.

SLP: Silence

Me: I am going for this refinance on my house, and as it stands right now, I can't get the best interest rates, because of some lates that I had back then. I desperately need for you to see if you can remove this ONE SPOT of lates on my report, because if you help me, then I will have a great interest rate, and then I can make sure that you all always get paid in a prompt fashion.

SLP: We don't really do that.

Me: You don't do what? You don't want to help people succeed in their efforts to pay their bills on time? That looks to me like it would be something that you all would want to do.

SLP: I'm not saying that. I'm saying that it's not our normal policy to change the payment history on our accounts.

Me: It's not my normal policy to spend my time at work calling student loan people begging for some help removing lates, but sometimes there are circumstances where each party can make some allowances.

He finally filed some electronic thing that is SUPPOSES to inquire about deleting them, and they are supposed to get back to me by the end of the week with an answer. I'm not optimistic.
