@Girlzilla88 wrote:@FinStar You can stop this thread now so we don't keep going?!! XD If you don't mind ^^
Naw, y'all are good. This will help someone in the future and maybe this thread gets resurrected 8 months from now 😉
@FinStar LOL Ok I just don't want to get in trouble for veering off the track to much XD
@FinStar And yes I do agree with the fact that it is depending on who you even get on the phone and what institution as well as if you are even a talker. To me I get headaches if I'm on the phone to long (mostly because I don't like being passed around and dealing with repeating myself) but I am on the phone ALL DAY at work so the less time I can spend on the phone outside of work the better ^^

Oops, sorry 'bout all that rambling @FinStar
@Milano sometimes it's nice to speak to a live person, hear their voice esp. when there's a lot to be asked/said. Chat is usually quicker plus you can save the info. and/or it will be there when you revisit, like Amex.
I suppose that has its uses. I can't put my good charm to work in text too well, the two times I tried I never got what I wanted... However, I've gotten good results on every single phone call. 😊

Lol, I see what ya mean...a little sugar poured into the phone does work.
Chat= quick stuff & Phone= buttering up
@FinStar omgeez, you're so right and what a great memory you have. Dh had to phone Fraud dept. the other day. That Was Fun! I wasn't sure if I should just let them kill the card before saying, "Guess what you need to do?"
....again
He was an angel though and luckily Comenity was cool and QUICK.
@FinStar Oh darn! Off topic again ^^^

Agree, tone inflection is easier to detect when using charm powers. Chat, even the cutest emoji (or lack thereof by using other keys) doesn't reach as far, especially for complex issues.
I don't mind calling (or staying on hold since I can multitask), but my SO, no way. So, guess who has to do the talking 😆.
But, whenever a chat service is available, like when I had to contact Key Bank the other day, makes it nice and convenient for quick tasks.
@FinStar Chat allows me to take care of business...anyone's business (wink wink).
Don't you just hate it though when something pressing pops up and you're on the way out the door, or your phone has 1 bar, or the battery is dying, or you gotta whisper? (baby, crowd, nosey peep)
One good thing about chat is I don't have to keep saying, "What?" or "Can you repeat that?" hahahaha!
So I guess at the end of the day they all have their benefits ^^ and some more to others which is crazy if you think about it. How that can apply to other things in life as well. Some cards have more benefits to some, some food has more benefit to some, some people are more a benefit to some as how they can assit that person etc....It just really makes you think and realize how small and connected the world really is.
@FinStar wrote:Whenever I've used each channel (phone/chat) their service has been great, IME.
Then again, it's a matter of preference since some individuals don't particularly like to be on the phone and I can think of @GApeachy's DH and @Jnbmom's DH, for instance. And, like any other institutions, regardless of what channel is used, sometimes you may not get stellar service so experiences can vary.
Yes DH hates to talk on the phone, but from past experiencee the "chat feature" does not really help any, they give generic answers and tell you to call CS .
