Does anyone know if I remove an AU from my account, will the card stop reporting on their credit report as of the cancellation date or will the entire history of the card be removed? Just wondering if it will show similar to a closed account on their reports.

I was an authorized user on my dad's account. It was a good thing until he got a little bit behind and maxed out his limit ($16,000). I asked him to please remove me and then it just stopped updating monthly on my reports. It was seriously messing with my utilization, which was at 97%, so I disputed the TL with all 3 CRA's and had it removed completely. This was with PenFed FYI.
I removed my daughter from my Chase Slate (7k CL) a month or two ago because it was close to maxed out and hurting her overall utilization. The person who removed her said that it would stay on her credit report at the current balance unless we explictly removed it from her report. Unfortunately that required her to be on the call and she lives elsewhere so I said I'd call back when she was in town.
She was here last week so we called Chase and got transferred to a credit bureau specialist. He said that when the AU is removed, the reported balance goes to zero, and only the payment history still affects her score. He said he could do the full removal, but again, that would only affect history, and since that card is over 20 years old with no late payments, over limits, or other derogs, we left it.
I did get conflicting info from the two agents so I should probably sign her up for CK so I can see how it is really reported. Her FICO did go up 30 points, but around the same time I added her as an AU to my Amex Blue which has a 32k limit and around 1% utilization so I attributed the change to that.
I checked CK and the second agent is right. The card shows zero balance, and her responsibility as "Terminated". It also shows a 23 year age (almost as old as my daughter), and all green checkmarks.
Thanks to everyone for the responses, a little bit late but I was off the board for a short break.
