How does credit work if you're self employed?

I am currently employed but I am planning on starting a business and I will incorporate.  I know when you do credit apps they ask for your income and employer.  Do they verify that information?  If I was self employed would I just list the name of my corporate entity?

I'm going to need a super high credit limit so I want to make my business and personal credit as solid as possible, I'm currently around a 700 fico.

Yes, they will want to verify the income, especially for super high CLs. Typically commercial lenders want to see two years T/Rs and YTD I/S. Also, most will want you to guarantee the loans personally. If I were you, I would get myself a super high CL card and keep it only for business before you start this business. I also wouldn't leave my job, until I either got enough funding for the business or got the business established and cashflowing.
