So I sent a ltr to EQ to dispute a few things several weeks ago. Today, I received a ltr explaining how long information remains on file. I double-checked my ltr again and I had asked just three things: to remove myself from two accts that I was an AU and to update a CC account I closed several months ago but is showing as open. That was I all asked so, in effect, they didn't do anything.
And then, I received a response to another GW ltr I sent out several weeks ago to one of my CC and here was their response: "Altering the information that was reported to the credit bureau would be a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act." I had asked if they'd be kind enough to change two late payments back in 2005 since I had paid on time thereafter and up until now. Is that true? They cannot 'alter' the information? I thought they could...
Grrrrr...I hope the other 8 GW I sent out at the same time are better news than what I got today...
