I just wanted you all to know that.
But, since I have your attention...
My relationship with Capital One is as follows. I received the Platinum card three years ago in May. I casually used it and paid on time until November 2017. Yes, a late payment- which gets to tag along with me until 2024 now. Regardless, they had no problem approving me for the QS1 last year in May. I wasn't aware I could product change that Platinum to a Quicksilver until shortly after I had the QS1. Pissed, however, I did so.
Now, my QS seems bucketed at 3 years old and my QS1 is approaching its first anniversary. Aside from the Credit Steps with the QS1, I have never received an increase with Cap1. I know everyone's report is different, but I'm reading where people have grown and received hefty CLI's with Cap1 while I'm over here looking at these silver twins like w-tf guys? And then there's the 'account combination will return, we just don't know when sir'. 🤦🏽♂️
Maybe I'm playing devil's advocate here, but, what's the likelihood either of these anniversaries will yield an increase? I lay on the love button like a down feathered pillow. I don't know what else to do other than SD them if they don't show me some love.
I got my QS in October of 2017 and it hasn't grown since they bumped it from $300 to $500. Meanwhile, my fiance got the exact same card at the same time and his limit is now $4,800... We both PC'd the cards from Platinum to QS, but mine is 100% bucketed. I was SO CLOSE to closing it over the weekend. I was on the last page of "are you sure you want to close this card?" and I backed out. I don't know why I'm so afraid of losing a measly $500 limit card that's literally never going to grow.
What are they reasons they give when you try a CLI? For me it's that I don't use the card enough, which is bull because I've been using plenty because I'm trying to increase the dang limit.
Queen, they did me the same way on the secured I had. Wasn't growing and from the other threads, around would never unsecure. I went ahead and closed it down last month. Just something to know, they will take 2 months or more to report a new card but will report one closed within days of closure. I got a savor One with a decent limit so decided to close mine on that thinking well when they both report I'll get a bump as I had more credit available. Instead, because they reported it closed so quickly I gave back 7-8 points across all three. I'm sure it will come back once I get that additional 10K reporting. Just an FYI

And unless u call and ask for check to be sent(closed secured) they will wait 2 statements. I called and they said they would hold it unless they received a call...
Interesting, I called and got the two statement credit spill. I did not protest but perhaps I should. I did notice they changed the status of that card from closed to restricted in my account now with the negative balance from my deposit.
Yeh its been zero for a while as I haven't used it but once or twice in the past few months
I had a terrible experience with capital one as well, they were charging me the monthly fee and interest before i even received the card. I instantly regretted my decision. now 3 years later that card is paid off and closed.
my advice, choose amex.
I hate Cap1 more than you, but Ill give them respect for helping me rebuild back in 2015. I never had a secured card with them and had 700 across the boards, I think I had 2 charge offs when I applied or they fell off? Anyways Heres my PC path Plat with $500 limit 25% APR, which grow to $1500, than $2500. PC to QS1 which grew to $4,500 recently and now Ven1, which wont move. I was hoping to get a CLI before I started applying for new credit cards. I dislike Discover now since I got the card, I have a intro of 0% APR (Never got this from CAP1) for 14months but a starting line of $2700 and after the intro is over they have me at 25% APR? Im like **bleep**? 4.5yrs later and perfect credit report and 800 across all 3 and they give me 25% APR, whatver they wont earn any money off me, PIF every month after I am done with 0% APR
