Re: If I have MyFico, should I delete Credit Karma

I will keep myfico for the scores, but credit karma for the up to date reporting on my accounts.  MyFico only gives me a report of accounts every three months.  And free is free. And it's good at tax time as well.

Thanks, I'll just use myFico and delete Credit Karma.

This makes no sense. You can get 11 weeks of watching your reports for free in between the quarterly pulls from MyFICO. You can see all account info including weekly account balances and such for free in case of a screw up. Plus get your insurance score also. CK alerts are much faster than MyFICO if something negative happens sometimes. I'd re-think your decison to cancel. It's free and login once a week. Welcome to the forums.

Hi Everyone,

Brand new here, I was wondering, since I'm now paying for myFico, would you recommend deleting Credit Karma?

If I have wheat bread I paid for should I throw out the free white bread someone gave me....imo absolutely not. Since I recently started paying attention to my credit I have done a few things like Checking Myfico, checking CK, checking Wallethub, Creditwise, Credit.com, Experian,Discover scorecard reports etc. They all update different times some everyday, some every week, some every 2 weeks, 30 days etc

with different bureaus.

Credit changes all the time and if you have several accounts with all kinds of different reporting dates they change even more.

In the past a once a year free credit report was good for me, but lately I look at my credit as a sort of a game I'm playing.

Some times i do things against the rules just to see the effects (like opening 8-9 cards in a year) knowing that all the inquiries will drop off all at once right behind each other and they will age much faster than if I had spreaded them out over time.

Leave a balance a little higher to see the effects etc.

Since I have a lot going on I like to check a lot of reports so it serves my purposes to utilize several sources along with the scores given by some of the cc issuers.  (even though 30 days is too long for me to not know whats going on). Plus with a lot of different services you can get a lot of different alerts (this is great when one service may miss something or is not working for a reason).

Boy when I get a HP inquiry or any other pertinent change...my email and text messages sound like a war going on...pop pop beep beep alert alert.

If you are in the mindframe that checking your credit once in awhile quarterly, yearly then one account that takes care of that is fine.

and no other sources are needed.

I have the top subscription, so mine updates every month, personally that's all I need.
