Oh well. I figure I'll get it sooner or later.
Well, I went to several blogs that supposedly had an "inside track" to the IRS and most of the people who commented there stated that around the time that they got the piece of paper that told'em how much they were going to get, they got their check within a few days. I got my check (via mail) approx the second day after the notice arrived (dated the 16th -- which was according to the schedule -- but arrived on the 20th -- our mail is REALLY slow here).
A LOT of people said that the notice came AFTER the check did.
But according to the official IRS statement, the info will only be in the system approx. one week prior to the deposit made or check sent. I've heard oodles about people not seeing their info until such-and-such a date and then POOF!! two days later, there it is!!
Also, remember that your bank's method of processing ACH payments (which, IIRC, is how the deposit will be treated) can vary and can take anywhere from 24 hours to one week. If you have a CU for your account, supposedly, it will take longer to process than a large, national bank. Small banks, can take longer, too. (heard this ... have no way of knowing if it's BS, an excuse, or realistic)
But one thing is for sure: if they tell you you're getting your money, you will. So far, those that haven't heard ANYTHING are the only ones who've not gotten theirs at ALL. So yours is on it's way!!!
You probably already know this, but if you are subject to offset, it can increase the processing time. Have you already called to see if you've got an offset?
