At first I never checked my scores. I received the scores in February through a counseling service. After that I started calling ALL the collection agencies and making little deals with them, I started with more than 10 collection accounts. I paid about 3-4. I then went online to get my reports and disputed EVERYTHING through that process. A lot of things fell off and some remained. Whatever remained I paid and it happened to fall off on its own. I also faxed and called the CRA's with any issues or disputes. Today I have 1 paid (once delinquent) credit card on all 3 and EX has a collection account from Comcast which is being removed. And one paid collection from Cavalry on TU and EX. EQ has NOOOO collections. I have 6 credit accounts and my utilization was about 95%. Today it is around 50% and I plan on getting that to 10%. You definitely have to have some revolving credit accounts, whether secured or unsecured.
