Is a creditor allowed to do this?

My statement cut and about 3 wks passed and only EX and EQ had updated my bal. I contacted my CC company and the rep said that they had no one to tt about the bal not being updated bc they send to all 3 bureaus at the same time. I confirmed that I should tt TU about it.

 

I then filed a dispute w TU and made a comment in the dispute that the bal had not been updated. The bal was updated at some point and I never contacted anyone about it again. But, the CC company has put a 'consumer disagrees after dispute' remark on ALL 3 bureaus. 

 

Are they allowed to report this to all bureaus even though I only disputed with 1? I'm wondering if they have some type of system limitation that prevents them from reporting to a single bureau. Even if that's the case, does it mean that they can do this? Seems wrong.

TU is known to lag behind at times. Disputing is really for inaccurate info on your reports. You can see theres always a thread on here that this credit card company hasnt updated in weeks, months, hasnt posted yet, when will they post and so on. I guess "tt" is talk to? Consumer disagrees after dispute means that the creditor has verified their reporting to be accurate, although the consumer (you) may still disagree with this result. In a dispute, the credit bureau forwards the data in question back to the creditor who provided it so they can review their records. So the creditor nor the CRA's were not at fault. They (creditor) verified it and sent it to all 3 CRA's, just like they did the statement balance. So no more disputing. Patience pays off.

LOL, yes, tt means talked to...And, I actually meant "consumer disagrees after resolution" if that makes a difference. 

 

I'm still wondering why they would send this to bureaus that I didn't even file a dispute with.

You could call a CRA and ask a question about the weather and they'd make that a dispute. Smiley Very Happy
