Just want to make sure there is no tricky wording in here and would appreciate a few extra sets of eyes in case I am missing something
I sent out a PFD to RJM a few weeks ago for a $364 account with an old bank, they sent me the following letter
"..........Based on review of this account, RJM is pleased to accept the sum of $364 in full satisfaction of the above referenced account
Please respond by March 6, 2008
Upon receipt and clearance of the 364, this account will be satisfied in full, and as per your specific request, RJM will REQUEST OUR REPORTING OF THIS ACCOUNT BE DELETED FROM YOUR CREDIT REPORT.
Please enclose the bottom portion of this letter along with your payment. "
My questions:
1) Does this look legit? as in no loopholes I need to worry about?
2) Also, the "bottom portion" of the bill referenced in the letter has a check box on it marked "Please delete RJM's reporting of this account from my credit report".......is this normal for them to require me to check this box in order to get this removed from my CR? I mean the letter already says that they will.........I'm a bit worried that there might be some dodging involved on their part
Anyone else gotten a letter like this?
