I have a question about a judgment on my credit report/s for a $1004 medical bill (a 2nd MRI that my MD said was necessary but my insurance company refused to pay). Long story short tjhe DOFD would have been 2010 but the actual judgment wasn't until 2012.
As it stands now this is going to fall off my report in 2019. I did pay it in the end -- rather than going to court I just responded to the summons with an agreement to pay it off in 4 monthly installments which I did.
My question is whether this is something I can dispute with the credit reporting agencies because the actual date of first deliquency was much earlier than the judgment? Maybe it's a long shot but I would love to see this go away. Thanks for any help!
DOFD is not relevant to exclusion of a judgment.
In fact, there is no requirment to even report the DOFD.
DOFD is only relevant to and required to be reported to the CRA for charge-offs or collections.
Thank you so much!
