Just paid collection. FAKO scores went up but not FICO?

I just paid off a collection account (didn't want to get sued for such a small amount).  I wasn't expecting an increase but checked anyway and on Truecredit I got a 13 point bump.  I got excited so I pulled my Fico scores and there was no change.  My Truecredit scores are lower than my Fico scores across the board.   Has anyone else noticed this?   (This account just updated last night)

Feels good to pay off debt!

Were you able to negotiate a PFD? If not, a paid collections is just as bad as an unpaid collections with regards to scoring.

My TC scores are as much as 90 points lower than my FICO scores. Like Hauling, I had FAKOs go up, when FICOs go down and vice-versa.

No - they wouldn't go for a PFD.   Small town collection agency - probably don't even know what that is.

Not every CA will accept a PFD.

You can now try a GW letter. It seems like more and more people are having success with GW letters.

Another option after the GW is to send a DV to them. Yes it is a $0 balance, but the CA must verify and most out of avoiding the hassle will delete.

Last option would be to dispute, but that would only work if the CA didn't update properly (i.e. still shows a balance). Avoid that if you can.

For some people they're higher; for some people they're lower.  They're still worthless in either case.  Ignore FAKOs.

My TC scores are lower than my FICOs, my spouse's TC scores are higher than FICOs.

Was it just a collection account or did the OC have it reporting as a charge-off?

It was just the CA.  The OC never reported it on my credit.
