Re: KAY

Checked TC acct today. Looks like they pulled EQ for me which last I checked was about 620 Fico. I have several charge-offs and 1 collectio acct on my  EQ cr. Charge-offs are 4 yrs old and the collection acct is due to drop off in 02/2008. The creditor name is Sterling. Never heard of them. Anyone know what other cards are issued by Sterling?

Re: KAY

Sterling is the parent company of Kay Jewelers and Jared at the Galleria.  I read somewhere that if your are approved for Kay that Jared is pretty easy to get also.  I have not applied for Jared, so I have no first hand experience.

Just an FYI: The Kay's charge can be used at Osterman Jewelers also.

Re: KAY

I just applied and was given a message stating that I will be contacted by e-mail in an hour regarding my app status. Has anyone else gotten this?

Re: KAY

Interesting...

Does anyone know if they report to all 3 CA's? This might be a stepping stone for me...

Re: KAY

Went to our local Kay to buy DW a new wedding set to replace the $200 one I gave her when we got married.  Sales rep came back and said instead of the $2000 limit that I was e-mailed, my limit was actually $2800.  It may be that they gave me a CLI because I was looking at some things that would have gone over credit line.  What I bought did not go over limit, but still got increase.

Re: KAY

Wow, I just got a $2k card from Kay. I really do not have much use for it, just want the UTI to boost my score. Hope this helps.

Re: KAY

I got a Kay account 2 years ago, but have never used it. I should go in and get a pair of tiny diamond earrings I've always wanted, then pay it off. At the time I got it, I'm sure my scores were in the mid 500's or worse.

Re: KAY

They will report the CL as $2K but want to make sure you have a little extra available for the warranty's and tax.

Using it all will still mess up your FICO score though.
