Knowing when to check scores?

So...it has only been 2 weeks since I pulled my scores last, but I really want to check them again to see if it has been even a little bit of a jump.

My question is, I see a lot of mention of people seeming to know what days creditors report. Like capital one, macys, etc. How would I find this info out, or, is it just trial and error?

Re: Knowing when to check scores?

From what I've learned...most creditors report on your statement date.  Orchard is an exception that reports the balance at the end of the month instead of the statement date.

Re: Knowing when to check scores?

Personally, I pull my CR every 2 weeks to check progress

but I also have alot of baddies that are supposed to be coming

off Smiley Happy

I also pull BF's once a month as I have taken his CR from

42 collections down to 13 and still plugging away

Starting Score: 377EQ/350EX/400TU As of 11/2011
Current Score: 620EQ/614EX/612TU As of 01/2013
Goal Score: 700+ across the boards

Re: Knowing when to check scores?

To know when creditors report, either look at your reports or call them and ask.

Most report right around statement date(not due date, but day your statement cuts).

Do you use a monitoring service of any sorts to check your reports? If so, only pull when there has been major changes or you are just curious.

Re: Knowing when to check scores?

I just ordered true credit. I wish the scores I have there were my real FICOS! (554/532/590 - TU/EX/EQ) LOL. So if I understand this correctly, if something new goes on my report, like when my new Crown Jewelers shows up, then TC will send me an email to let me know the upate?

Re: Knowing when to check scores?

Geez Louis. Hoping2Rebuild, you pull your scores every two weeks? Isn't that pretty frequent? Does it drive you crazy, checking and fixing, then checking again? I thought pulling mine every three months was frequent, but now I'm thinking it's not frequent enough. Any suggestions?

Re: Knowing when to check scores?

Yes, TC will send alerts. They are usually about 2-5 days behind for me.

However, you can updated daily with TC. Look over on the right hand side in the light grey box for something that says "update report" or "update scores".

You have to wait 24 hours and 1 min between updates.

Re: Knowing when to check scores?

Unless you are about to apply for a mortgage or waiting for a certain threshold to apply for something special......you really don't need to pull.

I suggest a good report monitoring service that allows you to keep track of changes.

Then there are those of us who have been diagnosed with CPD or Compulsive Pulling Disorder. There's no known cure.

That's it! I knew I had  an 'issue' with pulling so often!
Thought it was just ME!
