Question - If Washington Mutual ACQUIRED Providian - can each company report a charged off account since they are one in the same?

It should only be on the report once. I would suggest dipsuteing one of them.

Thank you - I did dispute them before and they came back verified so it's listed (3) times on the stinking report!  One for Providian, One for WAMU and of course the famous LVNV, and LVNV is reporting it twice but they just keep reporting that too  Yes, I've disputed..

Will try the MOV for this and point out that it is the same - OR, will they come back & say - negative info just flat out reports for 7 years?

Method of Verification.  I have to use it on one account that all they did was CHANGE the first few numbers to letters, it's the same account but on the second one where it starts with letters - they said it was NEW as of 4/2004 - this is when they BOUGHT it...

Have another one I have to do the MOV because I have no address to dispute with the OC, and the account is NOT open but it's listing a $5k balance - I disputed online with TU and they only slapped the normal "verified" - love to know how!
