I made my last payment to Midland on 3/21/08 and it showed on my Experian CR yesterday that the account was PAID/CLOSED/Collection Account. Can I ask them to remove the words Collection Account?

You have lost any bargaining power when you paid off the account. Did you have anything in writing from CA that they would delete acct upon PIF???   You could dispute with CRA's as inaccurate reporting of acct, maybe they won't bother to update since they have collected their money..

diesel, if you're gonna ask Midland to remove the words Collection Account, you might as well ask them to delete the entire account.

Good luck. I have read some posters have had success with Midland in getting paid accounts deleted.
