Macy's deletion

Hello... Tried to get Macy's to reopen old paid collections account. They wouldn't do it but said to re-apply. Haven't done that yet as I am afraid I will get declined. In any case about 2 weeks later, I recvd letter in the mail from Macy's saying that they were deleting the old account from all 3 CRA's. This was about 3 weeks ago that I recvd the letter. Pulled a new report yesterday and they are still showing on the report. Anybody know how long it will be before they delete the account as stated in the letter??? Thanks!

I have had Macy's delete old lates in the past.  The credit manager told me it would take 30-45 days.  She said to call her back if it took longer than 60 days.  My lates were still showing and I called back and she resent the info to the cra's.  If you have a letter from Macy's the csr will put you right through to the credit department.  Hope this helps!

Macy's has agreed to delete 2 late pays for me also.  I had to fax the letter to the credit bureaus to get them to remove.  And then after they deleted them they were reinserted the next month when Macy's reported.  So, Macy's means well -  they just don't know how to get it done very well.   I contacted Macy's again and explained to them that they will need to delete the late pays from THEIR system to keep them from returning.    And yes - Macy's is very slow but they will agree to delete late pays.

Thanks for the info....this is not a delete of a late pay though.. they said they are deleting the whole account. It is presently showing as a O balance Paid after collections so it is hurting me. Age is not an issue so a delete I think will help. They were very nice on the phone though and they sent the letter saying they will delete without me even asking for this. Guess I will just wait it out another month or so.... Thanks!!
