I see a lot of information on this CU. My dad, brother and sister were all in the Navy, so no problem joining. I just have no branches anywhere less than 2-3 hrs from where I live. I have held off on looking into this because of that. Anyone out there have them as a bank and have no realistic access to a branch location? How does that work for you - no problem, annoying, etc?
Thanks for any insights.
You don't really need access to a branch for them at all, I haven't been to a branch since I last worked there they have a great app and website.

My closest branch is about 250 miles away, haven't ever been there. My other bank is Cap One which doesn't have any branches, so nothing new for me. I do keep an account at a local CU in case I need a local account for any reason but never end up using it.
Did any of your family retire from the Navy? Unfortunately, having simply been enlisted doesn't qualify one for membership.

If you're comfortable banking on the internet you don't need access to a branch; they're very internet-oriented.
Wash, thanks for the clarification. My dad is a member (but didnt retire) and my sister definitely retired.
