I have a personal loan through a large peer to peer lender. In March I asked that they put me on a harship program due to covid. They put me on a 3 month interest only payment plan. The payment for March was still in its grace period and not paid yet so their computer glitched and did not charge me the bill for April. I did not realize it as I was calling everyone trying to get help.
Now we are in September and my account this morning is showing 70 days past due and they have started reversing my payments. Yesterday my loan was fine now they say I am in default and owe $1800.
I immediately pulled my credit reports and they reported April May June and July as satisfactory. I have not spoken to a manager as they wont get on the phone but are supposed to return my call in 48 hours. What should I do? Can they change their previous reporting? Is that a violation if they do? Help! I cannot have a 90 day late due to this.
Also, they do not issue statements. There has been no collection activity. Nothing. This was a true error.
