I have absolutely nothing helpful to say, but had to say this: I LOVE your username, @unix4linux! It describes me--started on UNIX in the '80s, been with Linux since its inception.
@SoCalGardener Thank you! I first learned BSD in 1990 and when Minix and Slackware were released in 1994, I switched to Linux and have been a Linux user ever since 😉. That's why my handle is unix4linux, because Slackware Linux was the first UNIX-like operating system and that was my transition.
I use KDE Neon these days 🤓

Yay!! Another KDE person!! I've used KDE since its inception, too; I never could understand people preferring GNOME...and then Unity.... ugh. Whatever. KDE has had its ups and downs, but never bad enough to drive me to some other desktop environment. I'm a die-hard Kubuntu user, by the way. It's been my default OS since 2005. I do like to check out other distros occasionally, just to see what else is out there now, but I never stray permanently.
@SoCalGardener great minds think alike. Prior to KDE Neon, I used Kubuntu and since it's initial release. I've never liked Gnome and less when Unity came about. Prior to KDE, I used TWM and FVWM under X in the early days.
When KDE was released to sort of mimic CDE under UNIX, I fell in love and never stopped using it. I did try Gnome several times but I always hated its look, layout and mediocre flexibility when compared to X. Gnome was nice in smoothness and less of a heavy pig when compared to KDE but that's not the case today.
I use KDE Neon because it's derived from Ubuntu while offering the latest and greatest KDE features from the day they are released.
Anyway,.I know we've gone off topic but feel free to reach out privately any time and thank you for at least checking out my thread regarding my financial / credit report.
