OH YEA!  All I need to do now is write GW letters to remove most of my late pays and ill be in there!  Everyone that I ahve spoke to has been great, thanks a million!

DV letters DO NOT go to CRAs!!!  They only go to CA

In a DV to CA  you need to tell them no phone calls!

If Cap1 sold the account to CA  you need to deal with the CA.  Cap1 awful to deal with.

Re: New Plan of attack

Sorry typo... I sent correction letters to the CRAs because some of the information they had on their reports were wrong.

Cap1 is the only one reporting on my credit .. not the CA, shouldn't I deal with Cap1 on this?

I didn't know you could request that in a DV letter... thanks for the heads up on that.

Re: New Plan of attack

llecs,

Not a problem.  not to get your hopes up or anything but I have found that NCO financial has been the easiest company to deal with.

Re: New Plan of attack

blauthsp, what did you do to get CapOne to disappear? For us, NCO is representing CapOne, for roughly the same amount ($725). We sent a PFD, prior to NCO contacting us, for the full amount. No response. Sent out a total of 5 letters CMRRR, actually, but all 5 were redirected to Utah. Did CapOne ever contact you?

Re: New Plan of attack

Odd, my NCO FInancial was for Bank of America.

The Capital One situation was very odd for me.... I actually had a charge off with them and anytime I would call I would get redirected to a CA which was Alliance one, when they had no business handling the situation since they did not own the debt. they tried to play good cop/bad cop with me. From there I stuck to writing. I gathered a list of Cap One emails and blasted my PFD letter out I also sent the PFD CMRRR to Cap One(it also got bounced around and ended up somewhere in New York. Anyways, out of the blue they sent me a letter stating that the debt was not mine and they did not have time to investigate it. This I truly do not understand it was clearly a mess up on their part but im going to ride it for all its worth.

From reading over the forum Cap one is very unforgiving. Did you send NCO a letter to verify the debt? Sometimes if its old enough they wont even bother. Since NCO owns the debt now(I assume they are the ones reporting on your credit) then the problem should not be so hard to deal with.

If you would like the list of emails I used for NCO financial and/or Cap One please feel free to ask.

Re: New Plan of attack

blauthsp,

I drafted a DV for NCO and is going out CMRRR Thursday or Friday. We have until early Nov. to respond. We knew it was coming because there was a NCO inquiry that pinged our report three weeks ago, but other than that they haven't reported yet (as of yesterday).

I am a pack rat and saved everything. After a review, CapOne sent the debt for $512.44 on 1/05 to NCO. NCO passed the buck to Van Ru Corp on 5/06 for $595.01. Van Ru sent it back to Cap One for an unlisted amt on 8/06 and then to ARS National Svcs for $662.12 on 1/07. Then, I'm guessing, it went back to CapOne for $711 or less where I pulled mine and my wife's CR for the first time in several years on August 1. It was listed as a CO from CapOne for the $711. I then disputed the amt due through each CRA and it came back verified. Couldn't DV an OC so I did the PFD letters with no response. Maybe they'll conveniently loose my wife's acct too!! I'm not holding my breath but it seems like it'll be a challenge to validate this debt.

And yes, e-mails would be great. I am open to e-mailing the PFD letter if it came to that. Thanks.
