Next step for me?

Hi everyone, I haven't been much of a poster in these forums, but I visit frequently and get a lot of good information. Here is my situation, just wanted to get some feedback on my next steps.

This month I paid my 2 store credit cards off, Sears and Macy's. Macy's gave me a weak cli to $400 and Sears I did not request a cli because they pull a report.  I also paid down my CapOne to $180 and got a cli from $500 to $4500 without an inq. I am paying HSBC down to about 10% util this month ($500 CL) around the 17th.  I also sent good will letters to all my creditors late last month.

What do you guys recommend my next steps be? How long should I wait until I let Sears and HSBC do a pull of my credit for a cli? How long should I wait before pulling my fico scores for my own knowledge to see if what I have done has made a positive impact. I wish I got my scores in the beginning of all this but oh well.

I would like to re-finance my mortgage within a couple months. The only negative information I have on my report is a lot of lates.

Re: Next step for me?

I would advise you to send each creditor with a late payment showing a GW.  If they decline it, send another GW.  Someone eventually may help you.  I've had recent luck with Dillard's.

Hi everyone, Hello and Welcome!I haven't been much of a poster in these forums, but I visit frequently and get a lot of good information. Here is my situation, just wanted to get some feedback on my next steps.  Ok!

This month I paid my 2 store credit cards off, Sears and Macy's. Excellent!  Macy's gave me a weak cli to $400 and Sears I did not request a cli because they pull a report.  I also paid down my CapOne to $180 and got a cli from $500 to $4500 without an inq. WOW THAT IS AMAZING AND TERRIFIC

I am paying HSBC down to about 10% util this month ($500 CL) around the 17th.  I also sent good will letters to all my creditors late last month.  If you receive any declines, resend the gw's!

What do you guys recommend my next steps be? How long should I wait until I let Sears My personal experience is their owners are CHEAP, not worth a hard inq.

and HSBC do a pull of my credit for a cli  Are any of these lates with HSBC?  HSBC is difficult if you've had a lot of lates, they recently denied me a CLI and I've NEVER had a late with them!!!!!

? How long should I wait before pulling my fico scores for my own knowledge to see if what I have done has made a positive impact. Hard to say.  Dillard's called me when I requested gw and it was granted.  I've heard other posters say it was just DONE.

I wish I got my scores in the beginning of all this but oh well. Since you're now sending out gw's...go ahead and pull your three scores.

I would like to re-finance my mortgage within a couple months. The only negative information I have on my report is a lot of lates.  Keep working on those gw's!!!

For great mortgage advice, post on our Mortgage Forum and the expert Shane will be along to help you.  Lady Scarlet is also a wealth of info on real-estate.

If you're looking to raise your cli's for utilization, think about Crown Jewelers, no inquiry, $1500 cl.

Just keep a reign on those inquiries for now until you are sure at what you want.  So WELCOME!!!!!!

Re: Next step for me?

Thanks for the advice. After taking a closer look, I do not see any lates with HSBC but I do have a high balance to limit statement on one of the reports. Im surprised they wanted to pull a report, I have been with them for so long. I will take your advice and get my scores. Maybe even get scorewatch to see what happens as these creditors start reporting my new balances/limits.  The only reason I wanted a Sears card with a higher limit is I am trying to get new appliances and I want to take advantage of their 0% deals when they come around. I will keep it up with the goodwill letters and see what happens. I will definitely hit up the mortgage forum for some advice in there..

Thanks a lot for your advice!
