Hi, I got a notification that a collection was added to my credit report. Found it extremely weird because I'm on top of things when it comes to financial responsibilities and my credit. After writing the collection agency (Wakefield and Associates) they sent back the information that they claimed I owed and it's a medical bill I paid directly to the hospital in full and on time. I disputed it with Experian and showed them my billing statements and zero balance. To my surprise, they kept it on my credit. I reupload the documents again hoping it'll help but it didn't. I'm not sure what my next step should be at this point. I have all the proof that shows I paid the hospital directly, in full and on time to prove it shouldn't be in collections or on my credit report. What should I do next? Thanks.

You should dispute it again with the credit bureaus that have it.
And you should dispute it with the hospital and the collection agency.
And you should report the collection agency to the applicable authorities.
Go to the source the hospital billing dept and show them the CA notice and ask them to recall it. In person is better than e-mails and online stuff.
Send the reporting CA an ITS letter (Intend to sue) with demand for immediate deletion or you will go after them for each instance of reporting inaccurate information ($1K each instance). With the letter send copies indicating you paid it at the OC to a 0 balance. Send it certified, this will show you mean business. Give them 14 days to respond.
