Old Collection account shows up years later as closed without any missed payments

When I started to rebuild my credit in early of 2018 I successfully got two collections disputed and off of my reports. Kay's jewelers/Genesis was my biggest issue. It took until mid to the end of 2018 to finally get that completely removed. When I was ignorant to credit I paid this collection for less than the full amount. I paid 200 out of the $232.(wich Paid it off but left me with the Negative remark) Before it was removed it was my only negative mark The account included many 60 and 90 days late. it affected my credit score drastically.

So today I noticed through credit karma I know I know. It shows that exact Kay's account as closed with out any negative history. The only thing I can see is it says at the bottom under remarks paid for less than the full balance. I have not seen anything besides the remarks that shows this account as negative. Within the next day or 2 I will be getting my 3 beaurea fico scores and will know more than. But is it possible this account which is triple the age of my AAoa Could actually boost my score? Obviously through credit karma, it does not show in the history because they do not count closed accounts.
The other thing that is audit is showing as closed in July 2017. The account has been closed since 2014

Could this be some sort of instance where Kay's jewelers or Genesis or whoever is trying to clear their books? It just doesn't make sense why The account would report different than before. The fact this just shows up now makes me extremely happy I opened all the credit lines I did when I did. Obviously I'm hoping this is nothing negative or anything to worry about but IM confused a bit.

When was the original default on the account? The date of first delinquency sets the timeline for deletion of derogs. If it's been seven years since the account went delinquent, then the lates would have fallen off, leaving only the rest of the positive payment history and the age of the account as a benefit now.

It was 2014 so would be about that time. But still just th o remove it just to add it back once all the history is gone is weird to me. But hey I'm new to this and it could help

If you lose the negatives but keep the positive history, it's a benefit in that it's a positive closed tradeline and its age helps your overall age factors.

Re: Old Collection account shows up years later as closed without any missed payments

Yes that would definitely be best case scenario. Now that I think back when I got the account removed from Equifax I remember losing about 25 points. For some reason it seems Equifax does not have the payment history on this account .
When I paid it I did state I would only pay it if they removed the payment history or any negative marks. This was before I knew I should have gotten that in writing. It is odd because it seems as if they did just that removed all the negative history.
Originally At least EQ change from a derogatory account to a closed accounting without payment history before the original dispute was resolved. The other credit bureaus did not change any history but removed it earlier than EQ. This is the same collection I had re a pair on my credit report for a month or so and eventually dropped off. I am obviously unsure why they continue to remove and add the account.
When I removed it from ex and trans Union my score jumped up about 40 to 50 points. Obviously I lost the points from EQ Because it was a closed but Older account. It is weird that it also reappeared last year for a month or so.(all 3 report's) If it continues to report without payment history this would be perfect for me. This was The oldest account on my report.
